Dezeen Debate features "bonkers but brilliant" geometric home
The latest edition of our Dezeen Debate newsletter features a South African home comprised of geometric forms designed by architect Gregory Katz. Subscribe to Dezeen Debate now.
Katz designed the home in Johannesburg, South Africa, form a series of squares, circles, triangles and an octagon.
The brick and concrete four-bedroom residence was inspired by Elements, a book by the ancient Greek mathematician Euclid, which Katz was reading when designing the home.
Commenters were fascinated with the project. One described it as "bonkers but brilliant", while another labelled it "an experiment in geometry".
Other stories in this week's newsletter that fired up the comments section included an opinion piece by Reinier de Graaf where he discusses the term "placemaking", an office complex in Suzhou designed by OLI Architecture and a minimalist bridge which stretches across the River Vltava in Prague by architects Petr Tej and Marek Blank.
