CRÜ Studio has redesigned La Clara in Barcelona, Spain.

La Clara is a ground-floor space that once functioned as an old public laundry in the Les Corts neighbourhood of Barcelona.

"The project breaks the rectangular shape of the floor plan with a patio...[where] the most public parts of the dwelling breathe," said CRÜ Studio.

A second patio with the same intentions pierces through a piece of an inhabited space of the next-door plot.

"La Clara is a resistant expression of the three-dimensional chaotic balance that configures the interior courtyards of Barcelona blocks," added CRÜ.

This project has been shortlisted in the house renovation category of Dezeen Awards 2023.
