11.29 Studio has conceptualised an art studio in Rayong, Thailand.
The studio was tasked with establishing an adequately ventilated oil painting studio while enhancing the artist's work environment.
Situated near a pond which benefits from breezy winds from the northeast, the sustainable design prioritised local materials and repurposed discarded products such as concrete spacers.
The area's agricultural surroundings, uncommon in industrial Rayong, inspired the team to utilise bamboo battens to form the building's skin, allowing for wind flow circulation and light filtration.
This project has been shortlisted in the workplace project category of Dezeen Awards 2023.
