TSC Architects has designed the Dentistry Coexisting with Nature in Aichi, Japan.
This dental clinic project was created using a design method that takes advantage of the vegetation, height difference, and depth of the existing land on-site.
"We planned to leave the existing trees as much as possible, arrange the functions of the clinic to match the characteristics of the land, and connect them with open corridors and multiple roofs," said TSC Architects.
By setting the height of the floor at the centre of the three-metre height difference, the building coexists with nature and people are said to feel a variety of sensations, such as the feeling of floating or sinking into the ground.
This project has been shortlisted in the health and wellbeing project category of Dezeen Awards 2023.
