Eve Waldron Design has developed the interiors for Entopia at the University of Cambridge, United Kingdom.
The retrofit of a 1930s former telephone exchange building, Entopia, has created a new home for the Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership (CISL).
The ground-breaking project exemplifies a fabric-first approach combined with embodied carbon and circular economy principles.
Challenging environmental and wellbeing certifications were targeted including EnerPHit, WELL Gold and BREEAM Outstanding – said to be a world first for all three.
Eve Waldron Design took on a challenging role and created an uplifting and contemporary scheme with circular design principles, bio-based materials and nature-positive design solutions – while its interiors succeeded in breaking new ground to challenge the industry.
This project has been shortlisted in the sustainable interior category of Dezeen Awards 2023.
