Dezeen Agenda features powerbank that is charged using rental bikes
The latest edition of our weekly Dezeen Agenda newsletter features MyPowerbank, a portable phone charger designed for London's homeless community that runs on kinetic energy from rental bikes. Subscribe to Dezeen Agenda now.
Central Saint Martins graduate Luke Talbot exhibited MyPowerbank during this year's London Design Festival. The portable charger will allow people experiencing homelessness to charge their phones for free by connecting them to the chain of the city's Santander rental bikes and pedalling to power up a generator.
This week's newsletter also included the announcement that Lego has abandoned its plans to make bricks from recycled plastic bottles, visuals of the geometric Dhaka Tower by OMA and calls by conservation groups for the 1960s Sadar Vallabhbhai Patel Stadium in India to be saved from demolition.
