Sunak has revealed plans to prevent UK councils from constructing 15-minute cities in order to support motorists. UK transport secretary Mark Harper set out the initiative to "protect drivers from over-zealous traffic enforcement, as part of a long-term government plan to back drivers".
The scheme prompted a fiery debate among readers, with one labelling it "regressive nonsense". Another criticised the "narrow-minded" project and accused the government of "dragging the UK back to the industrial revolution".
Other stories in this week's newsletter that fired up the comments section included conservation groups' efforts to prevent the demolition of a 1960s concrete stadium in Ahmedabad, a 124-metre-long block of social housing in Paris by Christ & Gantenbein and OMA's visuals of the geometric Dhaka Tower in Bangladesh.
