Dezeen Showroom: industrial designer Robin Rizzini referenced architectural and nautical forms when designing Frank, a large table launched by the Italian brand Pedrali.

Frank is made from three pieces of steel and was designed by Rizzini to have "a light and ethereal optical effect" suited to spaces ranging from home living rooms to office meeting areas.

"The Frank table is inspired by architectural shapes and industrial materials," said Pedrali.

"Together, rational lines and curves contribute to conveying an image of lightness and contemporaneity."

Each table comprises a pair of softly curved aluminium legs, which are modelled on the shape of a boat sail and joined by a rectangular steel tabletop with rounded corners.

The table is available in different materials and finishes, including bright red and dusky blue, which are intended to suit a wide range of interiors.
