Port lighting by Tom Fereday for Rakumba
Dezeen Showroom: Australian designer Tom Fereday collaborated with lighting brand Rakumba on a collection of table and wall lamps that celebrate "the refractive nature of crystal".
The Port range includes two shapes – the circular Round design and the lozenge-shaped Stadium design – that come in either tabletop or wall-mounted iterations. Each version comprises a solid glass block cradled within a metal base.
The glass block is characterised by an internal stepped, conical shape, which plays with the refraction of the light when switched on.
As it is not directly connected to the base, which contains the lighting element, the block can be flipped over and reset into the base, changing the way that the light is cast.
"Port celebrates the purity and refractive nature of crystal," said designer Tom Fereday. "Reversing the crystal form entirely changes the way the light is perceived, revealing Port's unique dual character."
The base is available in a range of metallic finishes and can be used in a variety of interiors, from residential spaces to restaurants.
