Jasper Morrison

London-based designer Jasper Morrison opened his Office for Design in 1986.

Morrison designs for companies such as Swiss furniture brand Vitra, lighting design brand Flos, American furniture company Emeco and homeware companies Muji and Alessi.

In 2009, he opened the Jasper Morrison Shop beside his London studio, selling his designs alongside products from around the world.

His contribution to design has been recognised by the Royal Designers for Industry and as a Commander of the British Empire (CBE).

Work by the British designer includes the Thinking Man’s Chair, the Plywood Chair and the 1144 Doorhandle. Other projects are a book clamp for Penguin Publishers, cork furniture made from leftover material from wine bottle cork stopper production, minimal sandals for Spanish shoe brand Camper and a stripped-back mobile handset for Punkt.

Morrison has published several books with Lars Müller Publishers, including A World Without Words, The Good Life, A Book of Things and Super Normal.
