Frame Low coffee table by John Pawson for Nikari
Dezeen Showroom: designer John Pawson aimed to achieve "absolute clarity" with the Frame Low coffee table, one of his pieces for Finnish wood furniture brand Nikari.
The Frame Low coffee table is an extension of Pawson's Frame series, which started with a dining and conference table that was originally designed for use in his family's farmhouse.
Intended to be both warm and minimalistic with their simple solid wood frames, the pieces harmonise mass, volume and proportion.
"The thinking that shapes the Frame series derives from a desire to achieve absolute clarity – of form, proportion and construction language," said Pawson.
"The latest expression of this quest, the low table, combines economy of means with a condition of visual lightness that is both simple and poetic," he continued.
The Frame Low coffee table is available in three variations – one version with a lower shelf, one version with no shelf and one version with a half shelf.
