MAD has completed the ZGC International Innovation Center in Beijing, which has an undulating green roof and an organic shape with rounded, petal-like corners.
Readers were captivated by the building, with one describing it as "quite the engineering feat." Another remarked, "it's a single, simple principle evolved and extended inside and out. Stunning!"
Other stories in this week's newsletter that fired up the comments section include the "world's largest Passive House office" in Boston designed by Handel Architects, the passing of Pritzker Prize-winning architect Fumihiko Maki aged 95 and a mixed-use community space in Changzhou by Chinese studio AIM Architecture.
