Studio Lily Kwong has designed Giardini Famelici, a moss-covered terrace installation.
Giardini Famelici by Studio Lily Kwong featured hundreds of carnivorous plants emerging in all their ingenious magnificence from seven moss-covered dunes spanning the entire Buccellati terrace for Salone del Mobile Milano 2023.
The curvature of the Buccellati and Venini forms inspired the exploration of carnivorous plants, whose form evolved over millennia as a biological necessity to survive in nutrient-poor soils.
Giardini Famelici offered a feast for the eyes and intellect, putting these mysterious plants into direct conversation with Buccellati’s sensuous dinnerware collection.
The piece was curated by Federica Sala and the architecture was brilliantly conceived by Michele de Lucchi and AMDL Circle.
This project has been longlisted in the installation design category of Dezeen Awards 2024.
