Ron Arad has designed Cono di Luce, a series of suspension and table lamps, for Lodes.
The lamps feature a transparent Pyrex cone with a printed circuit board (PCB) wrapped up inside.
Although PCB is well-known in the industry, it is usually hidden. Therefore, Cono di Luce therefore marks a first for the industry in using PCB as a decorative element.
Together, Ron Arad and Lodes harnessed the PCB technology to translate its aesthetic qualities, creating a pattern that became the lamp's graphic motif.
The result is a powerful lamp in its seemingly simple design.
This project has been longlisted in the lighting design category of Dezeen Awards 2024.
