Théque Atelier has developed the Frame House in Budapest, Hungary.

This project sits in the loess hills of Szőreg and was created for nature-loving residents who chose a house that was as close as possible to nature.

"The main concept is a cantilevered porch frame floating above the terrain, allowing vegetation to creep under the house," said Théque Atelier.

The house's frame organises the two main blocks with gable walls; one contains the intimate room and the other, common living spaces. The frame also marks two atriums, the arrival area and the sunny terrace.

In addition, the porch was designed in a modular system which shaped the house and its mass, thus giving a well-proportioned rhythm.

This project has been longlisted in the house (rural) category of Dezeen Awards 2024.
