VATRAA has developed a house extension in Stoke Newington, United Kingdom.

This project reconfigures a family home to enhance well-being and sustainability by strengthening the connection with nature and offering framed views towards the garden.

"We prioritised reusing existing materials, such as reclaimed bricks and garden pavers, and integrated ASHP and PV panels for energy efficiency," said VATRAA.

The design includes bespoke elements that reflect the family's passions for art and music while ensuring a pet-friendly environment.

By respecting the historical Victorian context, this house extension achieves a harmonious blend of old and new, creating an inclusive, health-promoting environment.

This project has been longlisted in the house renovation category of Dezeen Awards 2024.
