A6A has redesigned a former workshop space into L'Atelier in Bordeaux, France.
This project involved the redesign of a former modeller's workshop, which was an ideal place for the architects to realise their own studio's new vision.
Named L'Atelier, the L-shaped block originally consisted of a street-facing garage, a central garden, and a large shed to the rear. This three-part composition lent itself very well to the project.
"We wanted to design a place for experimentation and meeting, which leaves room for manual work and research," said A6A.
"A place where there is no distinction between nature and architecture, a timeless intervention in an existing building that we will never tire of over time."
This project has been longlisted in the workplace project category of Dezeen Awards 2024.
