CookFox Architects and Gensler and have developed the new Google building at St. John's Terminal in New York City, United States.
St. John's Terminal, located at 550 Washington, celebrates the building's history as the terminus of the High Line while squarely focusing on its future through ambitious sustainable and research-driven workplace design.
This project adapted three stories of the early 20th-century structure and added an additional nine stories of new construction above.
This revitalisation has created new public spaces and improved the pedestrian connectivity to the adjacent Hudson River Park.
The new and historic portions of the building pair sensory-rich physical spaces with on-demand programming to create an energised workplace underscored by flexible work areas, biophilia and hospitality-infused common spaces.
This project has been longlisted in the workplace project category of Dezeen Awards 2024.
