Estudio Carroll has designed the Xiqué Boutique Hotel in Puerto Escondido, Mexico.
The new Xiqué Boutique Hotel embodies joy, harmony, and community transformation, seamlessly integrating relaxation, cultural preservation and sustainability.
With eight rooms, a restaurant, a rooftop terrace, and panoramic ocean views, the design prioritizes orientation, airflow, and sustainability.
The hotel utilises nature-based solutions, such as a wetland system for wastewater treatment; local materials, such as chukum and palm wood, provide cooling and cultural significance.
The building's form maximises space while preserving vegetation, inspired by natural curves.
Overall, it aims to harmonize with nature, celebrate local culture, and inspire transformation in its 620 square metres of construction on a 278 square metre plot.
This project has been longlisted in the hospitality project category of Dezeen Awards 2024.
