Kooo Architects has designed the new Hotel Rakuragu in Tokyo, Japan.

This project is the creation of a nine-storey hotel built on a narrow site of 84 square metres in Chuo City, Tokyo.

"Taking into consideration the small area and harsh conditions of a small lot in the heart of the city, we have incorporated ideas throughout to create a sense of comfort and openness," said Kooo Architects.

The triangular balconies dotted on each floor, weaving through the gaps between adjacent buildings, purposefully allocate space to the outdoor space.

Each guest room has a balcony facing a different direction, taking into consideration the surrounding landscape and allowing guests to enjoy the view.

This project has been longlisted in the hospitality project category of Dezeen Awards 2024.
