Architects 49 has designed a waste management building for the King Chulalongkorn Memorial Hospital in Bangkok, Thailand.

The design of this waste management building project creates an organised and efficient waste management space.

It ensures easy access for workers and adapts the dimensions to fit various waste management tools.

The building's colours match the universal waste separation colours – red, yellow, and blue – making it easy to understand.

This design reduces the traditional unpleasant look of waste disposal facilities.

Additionally, it uses residual energy to dry waste bins and has a ventilation system that prevents odours from affecting the surrounding area, making it neighbour-friendly.

This project has been longlisted in the infrastructure and transport project category of Dezeen Awards 2024.
