Heirloom and The New Raw have created the Flump Stool, a 3D-printed stool reminiscent of marshmallows.

The stools are called Flump after their friendly, relaxed posture – a combination of sitting and falling – and the British marshmallow candy, 'Flump'.

The original clay maquette emerged out of a squashed cylinder, creating the signature kink and seat tilt, creating a ledge for the user's feet with a gentle, jovial attitude.

An exercise in pushing the bounds of materiality and sustainability, each stool is 3D-printed by an automotive robot using a single filament of molten recycled resin that starts at the base and finishes in the centre of the handle.

This project has been longlisted in the sustainable design (consumer) category of Dezeen Awards 2024.
