Tres Birds Workshop has reprogrammed and redesigned the RiNo ArtPark in Denver, United States.
To support the City of Denver's efforts to improve the South Platte riverfront, Tres Birds and Wenk Associates reprogrammed and designed a riverfront property that had suffered years of neglect and pollution.
The resulting design includes a seven-acre park and promenade, including several repurposed structures adapted for community-based programming in the previously underserved neighbourhood.
The buildings now house a Denver Public Library branch, an art gallery, eight affordable artist studios, a café, a restaurant and a commissary kitchen and food incubator that enables small businesses to prove their concepts before transitioning to larger commercial kitchens.
This project has been longlisted in the landscape and urban design category of Dezeen Awards 2024.
