J.Ar Office has redesigned and revitalised Gerard's in Brisbane, Australia.

In Gerard’s eleventh year of trade, the rebirth sought to distil the previous dining experience while embracing the Queensland climate.

Informed by the Temple of Baalbek's presence, wear and tear has been reframed as a badge of honour.

"[As] a restaurant with monumental significance, quite literally, it has solidified its place as a hero of Brisbane's dining scene," said J.Ar Office.

With a refocus on ceremony and ritual, Gerard's takes loyal diners to new culinary depths.

This project has been longlisted in the restaurant and bar interior category of Dezeen Awards 2024.
