Building Narrative has designed the Panji Teahouse for Basao in Xiamen, China.

Conceived as a "living room for the city", the Basao Panji Teahouse reinterprets Fujian tea culture.

Located in Xiamen, Fujian, the teahouse marks the third collaboration between Basao and designers Building Narrative.

This project explores the dualities between traditional and contemporary tea culture.

The space concepts borrow from traditional Fujian courtyard architecture and contemporary requirements, which are considered on three scales: urban, interior, and furniture.

This project has been longlisted in the restaurant and bar interior category of Dezeen Awards 2024.
