LLLab has created Bamboo Cloud in New York City, United States.
Bamboo Cloud, a "sacred space" made from CLT panels and a woven bamboo strip cloud canopy, are among the pavilions shown at New York City's 2023 Design Pavilion event.
The two pavilions, created by Shanghai-based studio LLLab and designer Michael Bennett of Studio Kër, display sustainable building materials and techniques.
The structures are on show for Design Pavilion, an event by NYCxDesign, part of the programming for the city's annual architecture festival, Archtober.
12 main trusses, 16 auxiliary trusses, and around 10,000 bamboo strips form a 120-square-metre bamboo cloud, hoping to bring a completely new exploration to Gansevoort Plaza in New York City.
This project has been longlisted in the sustainable building category of Dezeen Awards 2024.
