Barozzi Veiga has redesigned the interiors of the Aesop Store in Barcelona, Spain.

The project for the Aesop Store is about stripping the existing space to reveal its essence as a base to compose an atmosphere that reflects the character of the brand.

The store consists of a few elements, expressive and precise in their position, and three materials: stucco on walls and ceilings, terrazzo on the floor and burnished steel on columns, counters and display cases.

"At the same time, [it is] a simple and complex space which aspires to be sophisticated and close, in a certain way intimate and monumental," said Barozzi Veiga.

This project has been longlisted in the retail interior (small) category of Dezeen Awards 2024.
