Atelier Échelle has developed the interiors for Clinique Monkland in Montreal, Canada.
Clinique Monkland offers a modern take on orthodontic clinic design, replacing the stereotypical sterile white space with a warm, welcoming atmosphere.
Atelier Échelle also viewed this project as an opportunity to explore domesticity within a commercial setting, focusing on details often overlooked.
Particular attention is paid to the entrance area, which is conceived as a living room with its existing fireplace, customised banquette seating and intricate ceiling design intended for reclined patients.
Fluted glass divisions provide both privacy and lightness between the intimate spaces in the clinic.
This project has been longlisted in the health and well-being interior category of Dezeen Awards 2024.
