Nomos has renovated the Artistas apartment in Madrid, Spain.

The apartment, located on the third floor of an early 20th-century building in Tetuán, features windows facing both Artistas Street and an inner courtyard.

The new design comprises four sections defined by load-bearing walls, whereas the previous layout, with limited natural light in two bedrooms, doesn't meet future inhabitants' needs.

"The renovation aims to create a multifunctional central space serving various roles and reconfigures areas for daytime and nighttime activities," said Nomos.

The design introduces two circular granite surfaces to connect different spaces, alongside diverse materials like granite, birch plywood and ceramic tiles, blending modern and historical elements to achieve a timeless quality.

This project has been longlisted in the residential interior category of Dezeen Awards 2024.
