North River Architecture has renovated the Electric House in Stone Ridge, United States.

The design-build firm North River recently completed this energy- and education-focused retrofit of a pre-Civil War building in the centre of Stone Ridge hamlet.

A testament to their mission to help New York's Hudson Valley region transition toward electrification, their new zero-carbon flagship office is also used for community co-working, cultural events and programming around low-carbon futures.

North River aims to increase local literacy about the market readiness of investments in carbon-neutral design-build housing projects and partner with local schools and trade professionals to encourage active participation in the regional carbon reduction movement.

This project has been longlisted in the sustainable renovation category of Dezeen Awards 2024.
