Shortlisted for Dezeen Awards 2024 Bentley Lighthouse Award, London-based designer and entrepreneur Natsai Audrey Chieza.

Chieza is an internationally recognised leader in the emerging field of biodesign.

She founded Faber Futures in 2018, a pioneering design agency combining consumer biotechnology advancements with real-world applications, and co-founded NPOL in 2023, a consumer brand offering biotech products using bacteria, algae, fungi, yeast, animal cells and other biological agents.

Chieza was recognised as a "visionary designer and thought leader", winning a 2024 London Design Medal.

The "first biodesign lifestyle brand" recently released a silk jacket dyed with bacteria-produced pigment and are now developing mycelium-based goods.
