Falke Svatun's Tumble vase sits on the edge of a shelf
Norwegian designer Falke Svatun has crafted a range of stoneware vessels with cut-out bases, enabling them to balance on the edge of shelves or windowsills (+ movie).
Made from slip-cast stoneware with a matt finish, the Tumble vase has been shaped to hug the edge of a flat surface.
While it is designed to hang over an edge, the vase is also able to sit stably in the centre of a surface when balanced on the sides of its cut-out feature.
The Tumble collection was on show at the Structure exhibition in Milan's Ventura Lambrate district during this year's Milan design week.
The exhibition aimed to showcase the breadth of the Norwegian design scene, with contributors from a wide range of design disciplines invited to create objects around the themes of "structure" or "trace".
