Tom Dixon
British designer Tom Dixon has long had a following, but in the last year he's drawn particular attention for a number of large-scale installations that showcased his products in unusual settings.
During the London Design Festival 2015, he partnered with Selfridges to create the Multiplex, a multi-sensory temporary department store at the Old Selfridges Hotel. Then during Milan design week, he partnered with Caesarstone to create The Restaurant, a series of experimental kitchens inside a deconsecrated 17th-century church.
Dixon was also part of plans to bring an ambitious designer crazy golf course to Trafalgar Square during this year's London Design Festival. Although it also involved Hot List winner Zaha Hadid and fashion designer Paul Smith, the project was ultimately scrapped when it failed to meet its high crowdfunding target.
The designer has also enjoyed continued success with his home accessories line. A favourite among readers was the Brew coffee set, an eight-piece collection in trendy copper.
