Matt Gibberd
Matt Gibberd is founding director of design-led estate agency The Modern House.
Gibberd has a masters in History and Art History from the University of Edinburgh, and is a writer and commentator on modern architecture. Previous roles include architecture columnist for the Telegraph Luxury, and senior editor at The World of Interiors.
Matt co-founded The Modern House with Albert Hill in 2005. The agency has reimagined the way that homes are sold, using high-end editorial coverage, magazine-quality photography, and a huge social media following. GQ named The Modern House “one of the 100 best things in the world” and a recent article in Esquire claimed the pair have “rewritten the rulebook on estate agency”.
Matt has contributed to a number of publications, including an essay about the collectability of Modernist houses. In 2017, Matt co-authored the book Ornament is Crime, demonstrating the enduring characteristics of Modernism through juxtaposed images.
