15 Clerkenwell Close is a housing project in London built using raw quarried stone that sits within the grounds of an 11th century limestone Norman abbey.

The building is made up of a self-finished structural stone exoskeleton, carved and fallen columns, revealed cloisters and mosaic floors. The structure explores the poetic possibilities inherent within the structural and aesthetic qualities of its materials, alluding to the local physical and social archaeology, whilst raising questions on architectural heritage and its integration within a broader culture.
