Filamento is the result of a study of how light travels through concave and convex forms of glass, creating an optical effect.
Before designing Filamento, Mayice had been working with glass and lighting for more than three years. The pair spent a lot of time researching the effects of different light rays, intensities and glass forms on creating this "filament" visual effect. The sculptural piece was designed for Spazio Rossana Orlandi in Milan and is created using a special LED bulb to enhance the beauty of glass forms. It is a dialogue between glass and light.
