Marije Vogelzang is the first eating designer in the world, pioneering this since 1999.

Vogelzang creates her own field of work aiming to show the difference between literal food design and the broader 'eating design', or designing inspired by the act of eating. She is exploring the meaning of food as a tool for design and uses this tool to make humans connect with each other, with the food they consume and with the larger agricultural system. Working with food as an experienced designer, speculative designer, curator and teacher, she finds a way to relate to every eating human being.
