Matali Crasset
French designer Matali Crasset is founder of her studio Matali Crasset Productions.
Matali Crasset trained as an industrial designer at France’s ENSCI Les Ateliers. After graduating she worked for Denis Santachiara and Philippe Starck, before founding Matali Crasset Productions.
Crasset puts research at the centre of her design process and aims to push the boundaries of her creativity by experimenting with new crafts and collaborating with professionals of other disciplines. Her collaborations include a project with Zimbabwean weavers, lighting for Ikea, a jewellery line for Le Buisson and the interiors of the HI matic hotel.
Crasset works on local and global projects, including workshops, products and discussions, and her collaborations and work aim to provoke change by questioning typologies.
