Lucy McRae
Creative Lucy McRae is a science fiction artist, filmmaker and inventor.
Artist Lucy McRae, who trained as an architect and a ballerina, develops installation, film and photography projects. She uses cutting-edge technology to test the limits of the body in order to design for the future. In 2014, McRae designed an installation for the Future of Mobility exhibition at London Design Festival, which vacuum-packed visitors to prepare for long-haul space travel. She continued within her short film The Institute of Isolation, where space travellers train their bodies for the journey through architecture and design.
McRae's work has been exhibited internationally at institutions including London's Science Museum, Centre Pompidou and at the Venice Biennale, and she has also presented her work at NASA. She has been a speaker at TED Talks, the Royal Albert Hall and various film festivals with the aim of encouraging scientific conversation.
