2226 Emmenbrücke is a Swiss office building that generates a room climate without the need for heating or air-conditioning technology.
The building is able to control the climate by reacting to the energy produced by the people, computers and lighting it contains. Aided by a number of sensor-controlled ventilation panels, the architecture controls the flow of energy within the building.
Its simple construction provides significant energy storage capacity and the necessary diffusion: an innovative concept that serves architecture as much as its users.
This project has been longlisted in the business building category of Dezeen Awards 2020.
