Blue Architecture Studio has designed a coffee shop in China's Xuhui District.

The design concept of the shop involved updating the facade and renovating the interiors.

For the facade, rather than practicing with a conventional method, the studio chose to leave the space completely open by creating a small courtyard around a U-shaped glass box.

The curved glass door, which can be fully opened, and the floor texture extending from the exterior work together to merge the indoor and outdoor space into a whole, and leave the inner and outer boundaries blurred.

This project has been longlisted in the restaurant interior category of Dezeen Awards 2020.
