Bold Stool is a simple modern stool that showcases different lacquering techniques.

The studio became fascinated by an ancient natural material-lacquer on a residential trip. The designers wanted to revive this traditional craftsmanship, unveil its unique beauty to bigger audiences, and elevates its art value.

The firm designed a seamless mono-shaped stool, balanced it with a sophisticated curvature transition that can showcase the beauty that different lacquering technique creates.

This project has been longlisted in the seating design project category of Dezeen Awards 2020.
