Nomos Architects has converted an old pizzeria into a modern bar-bistro in Geneva, Switzerland.
The project is located on the ground floor of a corner building with grand storefronts, facing Rue Prévost-Martin and Place des Augustins, in a very urban and popular area of Geneva.
The space was previously packed with fake furniture, a wood-fired oven and layers of tiles.
The studio has restored its original structure and revealed its spatial potential: roughly-cast concrete columns and load-bearing walls, a generous space cut 45° towards the corner of the housing block, four large storefronts, clad in villebois stone that spills onto the urban space.
This project has been longlisted in the bar interior category of Dezeen Awards 2020.
