Daniel Zamarbide has transformed an abandoned building into a residence in Portugal's Mouraria neighbourhood.
The crisis that hit Portugal has produced an incredible density of abandoned spaces. This landscape of closed buildings was featured by numerous opaque facades, hiding the interiors, waiting for better times to open the windows again and let the sunshine in.
Situated within a small plot, Dodged House features a contemplative void, proposing a diversity of interior-exterior spaces that extend into a courtyard.
This project has been longlisted in the residential rebirth project category of Dezeen Awards 2020.
