Motem Studio has designed a lightweight upcycled stool made from fishnets and various other fishing traps.
The stool has been designed as a result of environmental concerns in Hormoz Island, Iran.
The studio's design was derived from native handicrafts, knot-tying and allowing local experts to solve their own problems.
The stool consists of 120-meter fishnets and three modified layers of other fish traps. In addition to its lightweight and elastic features, it is water resistant and a good choice for outdoor application.
This project has been longlisted in the seating design project category of Dezeen Awards 2020.
