Design studio Goula/Figuera has created a chair with a tubular steel structure for furniture brand GOFI.
The chair is drawn in a fast stroke: straight lines, a circle and a rectangle; an apparently simple design that revisits the traditional chairs.
The joint between the backrest and the tube, commonly made using rivets or screws, is almost made in a magical way thanks to an invisible structure hidden inside the backrest.
Thus, the focus of interest of this design relies on its back side, the side of a chair we see the most when it's placed next to a table.
This project has been longlisted in the seating design project category of Dezeen Awards 2020.
