Alma-nac has added a second grey-brick skin to a 1950s detached property in south London to create a contemporary family home.
The original building, which had been destroyed by bomb-damage during the second world war, has been transformed from a three-bedroom Victorian house into a contemporary six-bedroom family home.
In keeping with the surrounding properties, the structure has a pitched roof and pale-grey cladding, which matches the materiality of nearby homes that are clad with London-stock brick.
The studio removed the original roof of the three-storey home, before using timber beams to construct a second floor.
This project has been longlisted in the urban house category of Dezeen Awards 2020.
