Studioilse has designed the interiors of two mental-health facilities in London that aim to uplift and have a positive impact on patients and visitors.
This project sought to "deinstitutionalise the institution" and support and enable basic and complex human needs.
The buildings that house the Anna Freud Centre, the children's mental health research, training and treatment centre; and the Pears Family School, for children excluded from mainstream school because of behavioural issues related to their mental health, have been revamped by the studio.
Both facilities are housed in the Kantor Centre, which Studioilse turned into a home for children, families, staff and students; a place that feels warm, calm, solid, safe and reassuring in difficult times.
This project has been longlisted in the leisure and wellness interior category of Dezeen Awards 2020.
