The Karangahake House is a prefabricated family home that draws attention to living simple and connecting with our environment.
The embodiment of efficient, economic and eco-friendly architectural values in a clean gable form, resembling classic "Kiwi Trampers Huts" bravely holds its own on a hilltop surrounded by dense native New Zealand forests.
Built on a tight budget at only 100m2, this three-bedroom home with an innovative outdoor room features fresh concepts, as well as carefully selected materials and finishes creating a curated optimum passive sustainable living environment.
This project has been longlisted in the rural house project category of Dezeen Awards 2020.
