Longlisted for Dezeen Awards 2020 designer of the year, Kem Studio is a design firm specialising in architecture and industrial design, based in Kansas City, Missouri.

The architectural and industrial fusion is a natural extension of the firm's underlying design philosophy – "Better Design Better Living" – making design more approachable, liveable and necessary in our lives.

The studio believes people interact with three different scales of objects as part of their daily life: the things we manipulate, such as phones, microscopes, etc; things we are equal with, such as chairs, benches, etc; and things that manipulate us, such as buildings, playgrounds, etc.

Kem Studio has been longlisted in the designer of the year category of Dezeen Awards 2020.
